According to reports, Juventus is the front-runner to capture Mason Greenwood this summer. At the end of the current campaign, Manchester United is anticipated to split ways with their academy graduate; nonetheless, Massimiliano Allegri’s team’s desire may provide an intriguing option for a trade.
After being accused of attempted rape, controlling and coercive behavior, and assault in January 2022, Greenwood spent nearly two years away from professional football and on the sidelines. In February 2023, the allegations were withdrawn, and Greenwood maintained her denial of any misconduct.
After United ultimately decided that the attacker would not play for Erik ten Hag’s team, Getafe moved swiftly to capture the player’s services on loan, and the 22-year-old has been able to restart his career with the La Liga team.
In 28 league games for Getafe, Greenwood has eight goals and six assists, and his efforts have not gone ignored around Europe. The versatile forward’s services have been linked to Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid, among others.
Juventus is now in the lead in the battle to sign Greenwood, though, and they have been keeping a careful eye on his circumstances ever since traveling to Spain, according to iNews. Although the striker is being pursued by “a number of clubs,” Juventus may have the upper hand in talks if they are prepared to cut ways with Gleison Bremer.

According to reports, United is keen to recruit the Brazil international this summer and may “explore the avenue” of making a trade agreement with the Old Lady that would send the center-back to Manchester and Greenwood to the Serie A.
United has placed a £40 million price tag on its former superstar and is not in a haste to let him go; a loan transfer is not completely off the table. Opening negotiations with Greenwood over a new contract at the Theatre of Dreams is another option on the table to make sure they don’t lose him for free, since his current term expires in 2025.
Although it is unclear if Juventus will be willing to give up Bremer in order to sign Greenwood, the opportunity to hire one of their top targets in a department that is in dire need of funding from Sir Jim Ratcliffe may be too good to pass up.
