David Ornstein predicts £100m striker will join Manchester United this summer

According to David Ornstein’s latest prediction, Manchester United will sign one of Europe’s top strikers this summer.

In a Q&A earlier on Thursday, the football correspondent for The Athletic made those remarks.

Many fans went to Ornstein’s Q&A, believing him to be one of the most trustworthy journalists around, hoping to get some insider knowledge on what will likely happen in the transfer market this summer.

One specific question received a very intriguing reaction for the Manchester United supporters who watched the Q&A.

Striker David Ornstein believes will sign with Manchester United

First of all, it is important to emphasise that Ornstein did not provide any factual information regarding the likelihood of this deal; instead, he answered this question based solely on his opinion.

All things considered, though, Ornstein supported Ivan Toney’s summer transfer to Manchester United.

“This is purely an opinion and not information but I do wonder about Man Utd,” the highly regarded journalist said in response to a question about where he sees the Brentford No. 17 finishing up this summer. Ten Hag had his eye on Kane, and Hojlund was always considered a development signing or one for the future, even at the high price. They have long sought to strengthen their front line.

ADVANCED STORIES OF MANCHESTER UNITED

“Hojlund has performed incredibly well, but as a relatively inexperienced 21-year-old, he bears a great deal of responsibility and physical pressure. Given that Martial is anticipated to depart and the unpredictability of others’ fates, there might be room to pursue a Toney. Naturally, it may come down to whether they are willing to pay what Brentford demands if they choose to do so.

Ivan Toney’s cost

The Mirror reports that Brentford is seeking to sell the England international for £100 million this summer.

But that might just be the Bees trying to frighten the clubs.

According to a report from Sportslens, Edu, the Director of Football at Arsenal, thinks a trade may be completed for more than £60 million because Toney’s contract at Brentford expires this summer.

However, Thomas Frank’s team can maintain their composure if Brentford isn’t demoted this season, so they might be serious about their £100 million asking price.

Signing Toney is expected to be quite expensive, even though his Premier League performances have been on par with those of a striker of the highest calibre.

The 28-year-old’s 20 Premier League goals from the previous season were only surpassed by Erling Haaland and Harry Kane, thus he can definitely repay a big transfer fee.

It’s important to monitor this scenario closely because anything can happen during the summer transfer season.
