The Sir Jim Ratcliffe era can finally start after the partial takeover of Man United was approved by all relevant parties on Tuesday.
The INEOS group has a tonne of work ahead of them, not just on the playing side of the team.
The Red Devils are clearly lacking in a number of areas, and in order to proceed, the new football team owners will need to seize control of the situation and make some quite tough economic decisions.
So be it if that means shipping out several of the present first-team players.
Even though it has been an amazing 11 years since Sir Alex Ferguson resigned, United has only sometimes seen success—none of the kind they experienced under the Scot.
Sir Jim needs to have that as his goal, but with the players United have presently, they will never get close to it.
Without a doubt, a select few should stay, but a lot of big earners and players who have failed to make an impression at the club need to go immediately.
Milan’s Tijjani Reijnders
Midfield is one area where United has suffered, therefore it’s not surprising to hear via Football Transfers (h/t Fichajes) that Tijjani Reijnders, a highly regarded player from AC Milan, is their top target for this summer’s signing.
Given that Milan only signed him a year ago, it won’t be an easy hire, but if the player indicates he’d like to come to Old Trafford, there may be room to work out a deal.
