Manchester United is working hard to finalise the agreements they want to make during the summer transfer window in order to increase their ceiling for the 2024–2025 season as their performance in the Premier League continues to improve.
Long-term target Frenkie de Jong’s entourage has already been contacted by Erik ten Hag’s team to express their readiness to sign him should he become available. Barcelona is reportedly exploring a sale, and the player is now willing to evaluate the offers that are being made.

In other news, the Red Devils are leading the battle to recruit Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta. The player is thought to be worth £51 million, but Juventus, a potential suitor, may find the price too high.
Michael Olise of Crystal Palace is another player that United is rumoured to be interested in. Last month, Fabrizio Romano stated that United will think about exercising the Frenchman’s release clause, but he also emphasised that “many clubs” are interested.
Olise’s contract had a £35 million clause that Chelsea activated during the summer transfer window. However, the wide player decided against moving to Stamford Bridge and instead signed an agreement with Palace that enhanced his exit clause dramatically.
Ratcliffe gives his OK, and Olise is drawn to Manchester United.
Speaking to GiveMeSport, journalist Ben Jacobs stated that Olise is “tempted” to join the 20-time champions and that new United investor Sir Jim Ratcliffe will “endorse” Olise’s interest.

“There is no doubt that Olise is a possible departure in 2024, even though he signed a new deal after Chelsea failed to activate his intricate release clause. Olise is well liked by Manchester United’s previous management team, prior to INEOS, and he is also enticed by the idea of moving to Old Trafford.
“All signs point to Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS supporting that action because, during their due diligence upon joining the football team, they learned of any past transfer plans for January—despite the fact that nothing came of them—as well as any summer transfer window planning.
“Anything INEOS does and the current Manchester United recruitment team are consistent. Olise can be considered a concrete goal ahead of the summer because they appreciate his profile.”
Olise is “laughable” and too talented for Palace.
Sam Dean, a journalist for the Telegraph, called Olise and his Palace teammate Eberechi Eze two of the league’s most “watchable” players, calling the difference in skill between the two “laughable at times”.
Before suffering a recent hamstring injury, the 22-year-old displayed an absolutely amazing run of play that saw him score eight goals directly in eight games and cause nightmares for defenders at Manchester City, Brighton, Chelsea, Brentford, and Sheffield United.

At this moment, it’s very evident that he’s too good to be fighting Palace for the bottom spot in the table and is more than prepared to move up to the elite level. The Eagles can now sell him on favourable terms, and he can select his desired destination, as they have increased his release clause. United supporters will be hoping that his first choice is Old Trafford.
