Manchester United advised to sign star who ‘plays dominant football’ – Would suit club of that stature

Erik ten Hag has been urged to think about bringing Gleison Bremer, a standout player for Juventus, to Manchester United.

That comes from Moreno Longo, the former manager of Torino, who stated as much in an interview with Tutto Juve.

Manchester United has been tipped as a top candidate to sign the defender in the summer for the past several weeks.

According to a rumour from Tuttosport on February 1st, the 26-year-old Red Devils and the Serie A team are anticipated to meet.

Calciomercato clarified last Tuesday that Manchester United is winning the race and that the Old Lady would need to make a strong offer to break things up.

Under Longo’s direction, the Brazilian participated in 15 games at Torino in 2020. Given that Manchester United and other teams are interested in his former player, the Italian coach was questioned directly about the value of the player.
“If I were a coach of those teams [United and other interested clubs], I would look for that type of defender. I’m not good at numbers and evaluations of players,” he declared.

“He plays dominant football, has an overwhelming physicality, and defends in the open field without fear of having 40 or 50 metres behind him.” That is what I would always want.

The coach gave an explanation of what he saw in Bremer at Torino when he was informed that his view on the South American could be biassed.

He was a little bit of an outsider when I got to Torino. Lyanco was the starter, and I trusted him because I thought he had the potential to develop into a very significant defender. He was adept at grasping the moment,” Longo clarified.

Tutto Juventus pointed out that Bremer’s assessment is between €70 and €80 million because he neglected to mention it.

“The figures are created by the market, however dynamics might also play a role. It’s challenging to offer a defender today at this kind of price, but we’re talking about one of the best, so the cost to acquire him can be comparable,” the Italian coach continued.
