Man Utd plotting summer swoop for £141m trio as ETH looks to reinforce squad

According to the Spanish publication Fichajes, Manchester United is allegedly planning a triple swoop to recruit Joshua Kimmich, Jonathan David, and Khephren Thuram.

In order to strengthen United’s roster, INEOS, the Red Devils’ minority owner who will manage the team’s football operations, is expected to leave their imprint by adding a few new players during the next summer transfer window.

It has been speculated, though, that Man Utd’s transfer budget has been limited because of FFP laws. This might have an even more detrimental effect on their finances, given that they are unlikely to be able to guarantee their spot in the Champions League next season.

According to recent reports, Manchester United is considering adding players who will be entering their final year of contracts at the end of this season because doing so would be extremely inexpensive.

Now that all three of them are entering the final year of their present contracts at the end of this season, Man Utd may try to recruit Kimmich, David, and Thuram this summer, according to the report by Fichajes.

The report goes on to say that because David and Kimmich aren’t close to agreeing to new contracts with their respective clubs, their futures are currently in jeopardy. If they express their formal interest, Man Utd might be able to get both of their signatures.

Man Utd is preparing a summer raid

According to Fichajes, OGC Nice may have to cash in on Thuram during the off-season because it is unlikely that they will be able to hold onto him for the duration of this contract. Therefore, if Manchester United moves, they could be able to entice him to Old Trafford as well.

Transfermarkt values Thuram, David, and Kimmich at approximately £34 million, £43 million, and £64 million, respectively. Therefore, Man Utd may need to pay a total of about £141 million to get all three during the forthcoming transfer window.

Given the uncertainty surrounding Casemiro’s future at Old Trafford, Kimmich would be a wise addition to United in the event that the Brazilian departs this summer. Additionally, David would be a great addition if United were to sign him, as they are currently looking to add a new striker to complement Rasmus Hojlund.

It will be intriguing to watch whether Man Utd decides to take a more serious effort to signing the three during the next summer transfer window.
