The 4-3 Premier League victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Thursday featured some outstanding play from Lisandro Martinez, a defender for Manchester United.

The Argentine made his Red Devils debut in the league since September, and as Wolves attempted to reenter the contest, he played a significant role in the second half.

The star, valued at €50 million, made two crucial stops to keep Pedro Neto out of the box and also prevented custodian Andre Onana from blushing.

He made two interceptions and four clearances aside from this. Moreover, he distributed the ball with ease, finishing 95% of his 76 touches versus Wolves.

In the 86th minute, with United up 3-2, Martinez was replaced. It appeared to be a preventive action. His left foot was given an ice pack.

Martinez’s substitution did not improve United’s defensive performance, but given the number of opportunities they generated over the course of the ninety minutes, they were worthy winners.

In the first half, the team could have easily led by four or five goals. They let numerous excellent opportunities pass them by, and in crucial moments, their crossing was subpar.

Before the match against Getafe, Bellingham leads Real Madrid’s final practice.

With a spectacular late goal from Kobbie Mainoo, United secured all three points. To get closer to the top four, they need to build on the outcome with a run of victories.

United will try to close the gap when they play West Ham United this weekend. At the moment, they are eight points off of the final Champions League position.

The Red Devils travel to Aston Villa to play after the Hammers. For United, these are critical games, and a win in either one might put the team in the top four.
