Report – Man Utd confident £30million fee will seal signing

Despite making 22 appearances across all competitions this season, Manchester United’s failure, Antony, scored just one goal in the Premier League the previous season and is still without a goal this season.

In a situation like this, Marcus Edwrads’ name is front and centre as the Red Devils try to strengthen the right side.

Man Utd is interested in signing the Sporting CP winger to bolster their offensive at Old Trafford, according to a report verified by FT.

According to the news source, Ineos, who just acquired a portion of the team, thinks the 25-year-old would be a good addition to the lineup to bolster Antony’s position, as the latter is having a terrible season.

According to reports, Man Utd are optimistic that they can sign Edwards for an estimated £30 million, if not now, then in the summer.

The English attacker is mostly a right winger with a strong left foot, although he can also play on either flank and even in centre offensive roles (SS, AM).

Edwards has started 13 games in the current Primeira Liga season and has directly contributed to 8 goals (4 goals and 4 assists).

The disappointing expectations of Gio Reyna

The former Tottenham winger has scored six goals and given five assists for Sporting, who are presently top of the Portuguese league table, across all competitions.

In all respect, Man Utd has to spend big money to recruit a right winger before the transfer market closes the following week, especially considering Antony’s awful form.

Marcus Edwards’ Lions contract is set to expire in more than two years. Is it worth £30 million for Manchester United to sign him?
