Ten Hag is a “big admirer” of Brobbey after their time together at the Johan Cruijff Arena, an informed source has told Football Insider.
The source also states that the youthful Netherlands international would be “extremely keen” to rejoin his former coach at Old Trafford, with a potential transfer to the Premier League reportedly being a major lure for him.
During his tenure at Ajax, Brobbey scored 13 goals and provided three assists in 32 games played under Ten Hag.
For the Dutch powerhouses thus far in the 2023–24 season, he has been in outstanding goal-scoring form.
The 21-year-old, whose contract expires in June 2027, has played in 26 games in all competitions this season, tallying 15 goals and four assists.
After representing his nation at the juvenile level, that form allowed Brobbey make his first senior appearance for the Netherlands in October 2023.
Rasmus Hojlund was purchased by Man United for an estimated £72 million in the summer of 2023, however he has only scored two goals in the Premier League thus far.
Ten Hag, Sir Jim Radcliffe, and the United recruitment team are rumoured to have a top priority list that includes a new striker in the upcoming window.
