Man Utd ‘willing to pay’ £129m to sign South American star as ETH targets audacious swoop

A rumour from the Spanish daily SPORT claims that Manchester United is considering making an outrageous move to sign Vinicius Junior, a great player for Real Madrid.

According to the source, Manchester United would be “willing to pay” about £129 million for the attacker who represents Brazil internationally.

Vinicius, who recently proved his mettle against Barcelona in the Supercopa final, has established himself as one of the top attackers in European football. This season, the winger has contributed 13 goals, including a spectacular hat-trick against the Catalan giants.

He has contributed significantly to Real Madrid’s recent trophy victories, and there is no denying that the 23-year-old is already performing at a top-tier level. Considering his youth, the Brazilian has room to grow with guidance and experience.

Manchester United’s desire for a player of his calibre is scarcely surprising, as he is bound to become the next big thing in the game. This season, the Red Devils have had trouble scoring goals, and high-profile additions like Antony and Jadon Sancho have not panted out.

Although Vinicius would be a significant improvement over both players, it is still unclear if the Red Devils and Los Blancos can come to a deal.

Will Vinicius give way to Mbappe?

In order to recruit the French international, Kylian Mbappé, Real Madrid may need to clear some space in their budget. Vinicius’s sale would generate a sizable sum of money and open up the attack for Mbappe’s entrance.

In the closing third, Vinicius has the ability to elevate any team in the world and have the potential to completely change Manchester United. It would be unexpected, though, if Real Madrid chose to let him go. The Brazilian is not yet in his prime, so Los Blancos may come to regret allowing him to depart anytime soon.

According to the SPORT report, Manchester United has been interested in signing the midfielder since 2017. It will be intriguing to see whether they can finalise a deal in the summer.
