Journalist Christian Martin revealed on Thursday that Manchester United is interested in signing Ñscar Zambrano from LDU Quito. He added that the midfield player at Old Trafford is referred to by some as the “new Moisés Caicedo.”
Manchester United is reportedly “accelerating” their efforts to sign the 19-year-old, according to Diario Olé Ecuador.
In an attempt to hire the player, Luton Town has already made a move and expressed interest in him. The Red Devils have responded to this by acting as though they are “getting ready to fight” their Premier League rival.
If Littler were Man, who would he sign for…?
Before Caicedo joined Brighton in 2021, Manchester United expressed a strong interest in him. Since October of last year, they have been keeping a careful eye on Zambrano, and now they don’t want to lose out on another incredible prospect the way they did with the Chelsea youngster.
Erik ten Hag’s team is thus “standing shoulder to shoulder” with Luton Town in order to sign the Ecuador U20 international by “matching the amount.”
Olé claims that Quito wants Zambrano to give up his 15% of the rights, which is why the Hatters were unable to finalise the agreement.
Olé claims that the midfield player’s future would be determined in the “next few hours” and that the signing fee for him would be approximately $7 million [€6.4 million]. That timeline is probably optimistic, but this one is going swiftly and has emerged out of nowhere.
