Fabrizio Romano shares “very positive” Man Utd update he’s now heard that will excite fans

The most exciting player to come out of Manchester United’s academy in recent memory is without a doubt Kobbie Mainoo, a midfielder for the team. Transfer guru Fabrizio Romano has now given an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at their current group of youthful potential.

Over the years, the academy at United’s training facility has turned out some incredible players, including Ryan Giggs, Marcus Rashford, Gary Neville, Paul Scholes, and Sir Bobby Charlton. We haven’t seen many United players establish themselves as first-team regulars in more recent times, perhaps because of the high cost of playing football these days.

Naturally, Mainoo, a teenage midfielder who started his first Premier League game against Everton back in November, is the most recent case study. The Old Trafford crowd would surely want to see more academy graduates break into the starting lineup after the Manchester United squad has had so many failed transfers in recent years.

Mainoo is going to be a big star.

If not for an injury suffered during the preseason, Mainoo might have played a significant role in the United squad for the whole of this season. Under Erik ten Hag, the youthful midfielder was given the chance to establish himself with the senior team, although he didn’t play until November.

When United played Everton back in November, the 18-year-old was an unexpected addition to the starting lineup. Sofyan Amrabat, an accomplished midfielder, was benched in favour of Mainoo, a Moroccan international. After the game, journalist Dean Jones told GIVEMESPORT that Mainoo can restore the bond between the team and the supporters.

While it’s tremendously thrilling to watch a local boy establish himself as a regular in the United squad, the fans will want to see more frequent occurrences of such moments. It is imperative that the Red Devils concentrate their efforts on developing players from the academy because doing so could end up saving the team a significant amount of money down the road.

Shea Lacey, 16, is ‘one to watch’ from the United youth system, according to Beth Tucker, host of The United Stand, who recently spoke with GIVEMESPORT.

Update on Fabrizio Romano: United is “extremely happy” with the academy

Romano stated that United are pleased with the way their academy is operating at the moment, citing young Mainoo as an ideal example because of his skill and work ethic. The Italian journalist continues, “The pressure of playing for the Red Devils may take some time to show through in other players’ development, but overall, the youth setup is feeling good.” When he spoke with GIVEMESPORT, Romano stated…

“I’m definitely really satisfied with them. They are aware of how effectively the academy is operating. One of the better examples is Kobbie Mainoo. Manchester United is looking for someone who is not only gifted but also a diligent worker. Erik ten Hag desires that. Not simply skill, but also diligence in training, is what he is looking for. Therefore, Kobbie’s actions are likely sending the strongest message to the club’s other young players. They are overjoyed with them. With Manchester United, there’s a lot of pressure, so it can take some time to see some other players. People are eager to see the outcomes as quickly as feasible. However, there is a really optimistic vibe in the air.”

Man Utd are in a challenging time.

Following the Boxing Day games, Nottingham Forest, who have had some strong home performances this season, will host United. Nuno Espirito Santo was just hired as the new manager, and The Tricky Trees will be hoping to capitalise on this opportunity.

In January, the Red Devils travel to Wolverhampton Wanderers before hosting Tottenham Hotspur at home. Next up are West Ham United and Aston Villa, with the challenging away test against Luton Town on February 16.
