Jadon Sancho, who was left out of Manchester United’s Sunday match against Arsenal, made a shocking statement. Declan Rice and Gabriel Jesus each scored twice in injury time to help Arsenal defeat United 3-1. Marcus Rashford had given Erik ten Hag’s team the lead early in the first half, but Martin Odegaard quickly levelled. With only a few minutes left, Alejandro Garnacho gave the visitors the lead with a goal, but VAR determined that the Argentine striker was offside. Rice and Jesus scored quite late in the game, sending the Red Devils from believing they had won to losing 3-1.
Ten Hag was obviously quite dissatisfied after the game. He criticised the offside call, arguing that his team should have been awarded a penalty and that Rice’s goal should not have been allowed to stand because of a foul on Jonny Evans. Additionally, he saved a few remarks for Jadon Sancho. The Dutchman said that the winger’s lack of inclusion in the team was because of his training results.

Ten Hag explains Sancho’s exclusion from the Arsenal starting lineup.
When questioned about Sancho’s exclusion from the touring team, Ten Hag responded, “We didn’t select him based on his performance in training.” Every day at Manchester United, you have to perform at the highest level. He wasn’t chosen for this game because you can make decisions on the front line.” Whoa.

Sancho has since replied, though, with a powerful declaration. He posted on social media, saying: “Please be cautious about what you read! I’ll not put up with individuals saying things that are flat out false; this week, I performed admirably in training. I’ve been used as a scapegoat for far too long, which is unfair, and I think there are more reasons for this issue that I won’t discuss. All I want to do is cheer for my team and play football with a grin on my face. I appreciate the decisions taken by the coaching staff and am thankful to be able to play with such amazing players, even if I am aware that every week presents a new challenge. No matter what, I’m going to keep fighting for this badge!”
Well, what is the status of Jadon Sancho?
Man Utd won the race to sign him in the summer of 2021 after he established himself at Borussia Dortmund as one of the greatest talents in international football. They paid an estimated £73 million to get the English player for a five-year contract. At Old Trafford, though, things haven’t gone according to Sancho’s plan. He only scored five goals in 38 appearances across all competitions during his rookie campaign. In contrast, he scored seven goals in 41 games during Ten Hag’s tenure last season and was frequently benched. He was a substitute in the games against Wolves, Tottenham, and Nottingham Forest this season after failing to start the first three. But he was out of the game against Arsenal. Ten Hag argues that his training results are to blame, while Sancho maintains that’s not the case. Certainly, this story is far from over.
