Man Utd could sign £21m star in the ‘next hours’, player keen on moving to Old Trafford

This summer, Manchester United reportedly plans to step up their efforts to sign Sofyan Amrabat, according to the Italian publication La Nazione.

Midfield is an area that has to be strengthened in current transfer window, according to Erik ten Hag. Therefore, the Red Devils have made the decision to pay £60 million to Chelsea to get Mason Mount.

It has been reported, though, that the Dutch manager is eager to add a second midfielder this summer, with Amrabat emerging as the top target.

However, if Man Utd doesn’t sell some of their present choices, they won’t be able to increase the firepower in their engine room. As a result, the Red Devils decided to cash in on Fred, while Donny van de Beek has been extensively connected with leaving the team.

Amrabat could be in Manchester in the “next few hours,” according to the La Nazione story, which claims that Manchester United will boost up their efforts to sign him.

Amrabat joining Man Utd

According to the source, Fiorentina will not allow its star player to leave for less than £21 million, so if United can secure his services, the African would be a cost-effective addition.

Amrabat has reportedly had offers from West Ham United and Saudi clubs, according to La Nazione. He wants to move to Old Trafford, though, so he has no plans to play for any of those groups.

It is clear that Man Utd needs a new midfielder after their lacklustre performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday. The new midfielder needs to be able to control the game with his passes and contribute defensively as well.

Although Mount was acquired by the reigning Premier League winners this summer, he prefers to play in the forward position and is not a natural box-to-box midfielder.

Amrabat would be a great choice since he is technically solid, can play between the lines, has an eye for long-distance passing, and works incredibly hard even when he doesn’t have the ball. It would be intriguing to see if Manchester United can eventually add the Fiorentina star to their midfield before the transfer season closes.
