Man Utd ‘strike agreement’ with Harry Maguire replacement in major Ten Hag boost

Benjamin Pavard, a defender for Bayern Munich, has reportedly agreed a personal deal with Manchester United. It appears that the Frenchman is being considered by the Red Devils as a Harry Maguire successor.

Maguire, a former club captain, appears to be on his way out of Old Trafford. The England defender has been heavily linked with a transfer to West Ham, despite his initial desire to compete for Erik ten Hag’s starting spot.

Following Harry Kane’s £100 million transfer from Tottenham, it is rumoured that Bayern may sell Pavard in order to balance the books. The 27-year-old supposedly wants to quit the Bundesliga team because the Premier League is interested in him.

The ‘obvious wish’ of Pavard, according to reports in Germany, is to join United. The Red Devils reportedly want to speak with Bayern again about a transfer.

Personal terms have already been agreed upon, but the two teams are valued differently, according to Bild, by £20 million. United apparently wants to spend about £25 million on the adaptable defender, but Bayern wants between £45 and $50 million.

It is also alleged that Bayern are hesitant to sell Pavard. Due to their unsuccessful pursuit of Kyle Walker, they might ultimately wind up denying the former Stuttgart man the chance to go.

Despite primarily playing in the right back position for his current club, Pavard is capable of playing both centre back and right back. The France international’s current contract expires in a year, and he has not yet received an offer for a renewal.

It happens as Maguire appears to be leaving United in a dull fashion. Despite numerous speculations linking the 30-year-old to West Ham, Ten Hag has given him the chance to compete for one of the starting places.
