“Will go to Manchester United” – Fabrizio Romano drops big update on “promising” duo

Jack and Tyler Fletcher “will go to Manchester United” this summer as Manchester City looks to sign United’s promising defender Harrison Parker, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

What’s the most recent on Jack and Tyler Fletcher in Manchester United transfer news?
The Red Devils have had a successful start to the transfer window with the completion of the £55 million acquisition of former fan favourite and Chelsea Cobham graduate Mason Mount.

After 12 years with the team, David De Gea also left Old Trafford. If the club hadn’t been so close to signing long-time target and Inter Milan star Andre Onana, this would be a major issue.

Given how well things are going for the first team, the club also made the decision to strengthen their youth programme by making a double swoop for City’s bright young stars Tyler and Jack Fletcher.

The brothers, who are actually the sons of legendary United player Darren Fletcher, would transfer to United’s academy at age 16 from City, where their father serves as the team’s technical director.

The Daily Mail claims that United has been ‘keeping an eye’ on the duo for the past few years, but their father was not involved in the signing of the players.

In response to the club’s move for the brothers, City has taken action, and the Sky Blues are currently in the process of moving highly regarded defender Harrison Parker to the other side of Manchester, according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano.

On his YouTube channel, he provided an explanation of the situation, saying:

“Jack and Tyler Fletcher, so both players are leaving Manchester City for Manchester United, and this is what started this chain reaction, with Manchester City now ready to finalise the deal for Harrison Parker.

The Fletcher twins will join Manchester United, but there is ongoing discussion regarding young talent between the two Manchester clubs.

The Fletcher brothers—are they well-regarded?
The brothers are highly regarded at City because they have worked in the club’s youth system for nine years at this point and have already represented their countries at the junior level.

It’s interesting to note that while Tyler Fletcher continues to play for Scotland’s under-16 team, Jack Fletcher represents England’s under-16 squad after previously representing Scotland.

In an odd turn of events, the twins actually faced off against one another earlier this year when the two nations squared off in a Uefa development match. Jack started in midfield, while his brother wore the number eight.

Jack won family bragging rights as the Three Lions triumphed 3-0 in the game.

Unsurprisingly, both players, who have been labelled “promising,” emulate their father’s playing style, playing primarily as central midfielders with the only difference being that Tyler is right-footed and Jack is left-footed.

Between 2003 and 2015, Darren Fletcher made 342 appearances for United, tallying 24 goals and 30 assists while also taking home every possible club football trophy.

The twins would have a very bright future if they could accomplish even a small portion of what their father did at Old Trafford.
