Sky Sports: Man United now “exploring” clever way of signing an “absolute monster in the making”

According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth, Manchester United is “exploring” more options to sign Atalanta attacker Rasmus Hojlund, with the possibility of sending Amad Diallo on loan to the Italian team.

What’s new on Rasmus Hojlund joining Manchester United?

Hojlund appears to be Man United’s top target at the moment, but Sheth recently told GiveMeSport that there are “question marks” about whether he would be able to go in and be the first-choice striker at Old Trafford.

Personal terms have never been an issue, according to Fabrizio Romano, as the attacker from Denmark is “very keen” to join Manchester United. However, no offer has been made, and Paris Saint-Germain has also expressed interest in the striker.

The Glazers may have to sell the team before a deal can be made, but the Red Devils are certain they can do so this summer. Erik ten Hag is working within a stringent spending limit because of financial fair play reasons.

Sheth has now acknowledged, in a live interview with Sky Sports, that United are looking at alternative options to sign the 20-year-old, which might result in a lower transfer fee.

According to the reporter, there appears to be a desire and a cautious hope that perhaps a deal can be reached because I believe United are seeing good signals that Hojlund would want to transfer to Old Trafford, just like they did with Onana.

“I believe United is looking into more deal-making options. Amad Diallo might be lent to Atalanta, while some rumblings indicate that Erik ten Hag, following his standout campaign at Sunderland last season, wants to see him in preseason first before making a judgement on Amad Diallo.

Diallo actually joined United from Atalanta a number of seasons ago, so he is definitely one to watch. Despite my lack of confidence in United, I believe the direction of travel indicates that Hojlund negotiations are progressing favourably.

What number of goals has Hojlund scored for Atlanta?

The prodigy had a good, if not spectacular, start to life in Italy after joining the Serie A club last season, scoring ten goals in 34 appearances across all competitions and adding two assists.

Football scout Jacek Kulig believes the teenager has a tonne of potential despite the fact that those statistics do not indicate he would be a tremendous success at Old Trafford right away. Kulig called the player a “absolute monster in the making.”

The international player from Denmark has struggled to set up many opportunities for his teammates, ranking in just the 41st percentile for assists per 90, when compared to his positional counterparts. He has somewhat underperformed his projected goals over the previous year.

In order to offer the young player another full season of first-team football, it would make sense to use Diallo in the negotiations. However, they will need to be patient with Hojlund because he is still growing.
