According to dependable writer Ben Jacobs, Manchester United is hopeful that a deal to sign Andre Onana will be completed this week. If so, the Red Devils would soon have a new custodian among their ranks.

Andre Onana has played how many games for Inter?

The 27-year-old only recently become acclimated to life in Milan after joining the Serie A team at the start of the 2022–2023 season, but it would appear that he is already on the move once more. The Italian team chose to sign him on a permanent basis last summer after noticing his performances for Ajax, where he helped them win four league championships.

He was immediately added to their starting lineup, and he helped his new team win the Champions League. He played 24 times in Serie A and allowed 24 goals, making him a notable figure in the competition.

On the European stage, he was even more outstanding, with just eleven goals allowed in 13 appearances in the Champions League. Given that he was so essential in Inter’s journey to the championship, it demonstrates that he is currently among the greatest in his position. Over the course of the season, his eight clean sheets in the top division of Italian football also helped him finish in the top ten in that category. His save percentage of 73.5% also ranked him as the eighth-best shot-stopper in that category.

Andre Onana is being acquired by Manchester United.

Due to his performances, there is currently a lot of interest in signing him during the transfer season. Man United of the Premier League have turned to Onana in their search for a new custodian and are considering him.

The Red Devils have been working to reach an agreement for the 27-year-old, and last week it was reported that the parties to the transaction were almost there. Now, a revelation from dependable journalist Ben Jacobs claims that the transfer may actually occur this week.

He claims that even the custodian, who was instructed to “prepare” for his move to the Premier League last week, is prepared for the switch to England and that United is “confident” that the transaction will be completed before the week is out.

Despite rumours that Inter are being difficult about the final price, Jacobs stated that Manchester United is still confident in their ability to get Andre Onana this week. Onana was instructed to be ready for the move to Old Trafford last week.

The shot-stopper has received maybe some of the finest plaudits a footballer can receive after a year of outstanding performances. Onana has been described as “exceptional” and “one of the best in the world” by treble-winning manager Pep Guardiola.

The fact that the custodian is not only good, but currently ranks among the best in his industry, demonstrates how well regarded he is and how reliable he can be between the sticks. If Man United does succeed in finalising a deal, David De Gea might genuinely be replaced, which would significantly improve their defence going forward.
