Man United target is apartment hunting in Manchester, official announcement soon

Following the acquisition of Mason Mount from Chelsea, Manchester United’s second acquisition is almost through the door.

Andre Onana is reportedly seeking for a “comfortable flat in Manchester” to go to Trafford Training Centre in Carrington, according to the Italian publication Gazzetta dello Sports.

According to the statement, a third and final offer that will surpass the €50 million mark is on the way, and “Tuesday or Wednesday” will mark the official announcement.

This appears to confirm a previous story in The People’s Person that United was close to reaching a deal for the Cameroonian.

United will finally have a contemporary custodian in goal, and Inter will finally be able to chase Romelu Lukaku and a new custodian thanks to the money from the sale of Marcelo Brozovic and him.

According to the source, the club recently met with Onana’s entourage once more before deciding to increase its price in order to fast secure the target.

The process behind the relentless pursuit of Onana is apparently being driven by Erik ten Hag, who also rejected options the club provided when a deal for him was not close. The manager wants him to join the squad at the beginning of preseason so that he can get to know his new teammates and the environment before the season starts.

United’s preseason schedule gets underway on July 12 in Oslo against Leeds United.

Onana is not likely to participate in that game, but given how quickly things are moving along, a performance against Olympique Lyon on July 19 cannot be ruled out.

His hiring will all but put a stop to David de Gea’s prospects of signing a new deal with the team.

United are in contact with Zion Suzuki of the Urawa Red Diamonds, who might replace Onana as a backup.

With that, Ten Hag’s major problem position will have undergone a swift and thorough overhaul.
