Taylor Booth, a midfielder for FC Utrecht, might be a target for Man United.

This summer, Erik ten Hag appears to be looking to add a new midfielder. Given how arduous the connections to Mason Mount have been, that much should be clear.

Manchester United now has to widen their search in the quest to sign a centre player, so a deal for the Englishman is somewhat in limbo.

The Daily Mail has the most recent information on that subject. They assert that Taylor Booth is a target for United.

United are ‘weighing up’ a move to sign the 22-year-old midfielder, according to their headline. Ten Hag is also ‘known admirer’ of the player, which is additional information.

The Dutch manager made it clear last summer that he preferred to sign players he knew (Antony, Lisandro Martinez, and Tyrell Malacia). Ten Hag will be familiar with Booth from his time in the Eredivisie, and he has undoubtedly been keeping a close eye on him this season.

Although Booth is a possibility, it is stated that Mount continues to be the Reds’ top target. To sign the American international, they will have to outbid Celta Vigo, Stuttgart, and Lyon.

A younger player might be the best option. With Christian Eriksen, Bruno Fernandes, and Casemiro, United can still field a top-notch midfield. The latter two, however, are now approaching retirement age. The team must find a pair of long-term replacements.

Booth is still learning his craft, so working out with the aforementioned trio every day would only help him get better.

However, United will need to move quickly because other teams might approach Booth soon while United waits to learn what’s going on with Mount.
