Man United deal for Serie A star centre-back is ‘practically done’

The signing of Kim Min-Jae from Napoli is closer than ever thanks to Manchester United, who have already found the defender a home in the city.

Additionally, according to Italian publication Il Mattino, the South Korean is adamant on leaving the recently crowned Serie A Champions “regardless of Napoli’s will.”

The most recent information contradicts rumours that Kim’s agents had earlier reportedly vehemently denied that a transfer to Old Trafford was close.

“The transfer to Manchester United is not true,” they reportedly told Star News. “Kim Min-jae is right now concentrating on finishing the season.”

Despite scepticism from the player’s camp, Il Mattino now claims that a contract with Erik ten Hag’s group is “practically done.”

In fact, the situation has proceeded to the point that a “villa” has been carefully chosen in Manchester’s upscale Alderley Edge suburb.

Although the Red Devils and Napoli haven’t yet met, Kim Min-jae supposedly has a €9 million per season contract with the Old Trafford team ready and waiting.

It was believed earlier this week that Kim had agreed to a contract with Man United worth £150,000 a week.

The release clause for the defender’s €65 million may already have been met, making negotiations a formality at this point.

His release clause’s exact value has been disputed; the amount previously stated is more likely to be about €56 million.

The initial assumption was that United would “attempt” to include Victor Lindelöf in the deal for Kim Min-jae.

However, Aurelio de Laurentiise, the president of Napoli, is not keen on the inclusion of any player that would result in a reduction in price and claims to “only want cash.”
