£43m star ready to join Manchester United with ‘details’ just to be agreed

The defender Kim Min-Jae of Napoli has reportedly been ‘convinced’ to ‘agree’ a move to the Red Devils, according to reports in Italy. If true, this would mark Manchester United’s first summer signing.

Time is of the essence when it comes to the Scudetto-winning South Korean team.

A £43 million release provision exists in Kim’s contract. The Serie A colossus must sign a contract with Man United during the next month because that offer is only valid until the middle of June.

Fortunately, the Il Mattino newspaper in Naples reports that things seem to be going well.

Do you think Kim Min-Jae will join Manchester United?

According to the story, Kim has been ‘persuaded’ to accept Manchester United’s offer. Before the 26-year-old joins Erik ten Hag’s team, it is simply “a matter of details,” according to Il Mattino.

Intriguingly, the same middlemen who handled the Kim transaction are now at the centre of discussions about Victor Osimhen’s future as well, with United possibly well-positioned to secure a summer raid on a champagne-soaked Napoli team still giddy with joy after winning their first Serie A title in over 30 years.

Il Mattino is interestingly not the first outlet to speculate that Kim, who has been compared to Virgil van Dijk because of his massive body and precise diagonal passes, would be travelling to England’s north west.

Talks between the defender and Man United, according to CalcioNapoli24 and FootMercato. According to reports, the Red Devils are willing to pay Kim a sizable wage at Old Trafford as well.

Kim, who was once wanted by Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, performs at least 20 great things per game, according to Napoli coach Luciano Spaletti.

“In my opinion, he is the best centre back in the world. He can enter the opposing penalty area in less than five seconds once he begins to run.

The “best in the world”

The superb but prone to injury Raphael Varane is expected to be replaced on a long-term basis by Kim, one of the most complete central defenders in European football. He is also more technically skilled than the Frenchman, and he may work well with the equally tenacious Lisandro Martinez.

Kim is described as “extraordinary, what a talent” by United legend and fellow Korean Park Ji-Sung for TMW.

Without a question, he is making a significant contribution to Naples as a technological leader and public figure.

Meanwhile, reports that Man United are making headway in their negotiations with Kim may portend that the long-awaited purchase of the team is finally about to come to fruition.

According to The Times, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is ‘closer’ to wresting control of United from Glazer.
