Manchester United is keeping an eye on Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as they look to improve their front-line options this summer.
United wants to sign a striker, but which one?
Overall, Erik ten Hag’s first campaign at Old Trafford has been a success, and the Red Devils have made strides on the pitch.
With the Carabao Cup already in the bag, United will enter the remaining games hoping to finish in the top four and win the FA Cup.
But one of their biggest problems has been up top since Cristiano Ronaldo left the team earlier this summer, leaving them without a true striker.
Despite being brought in during the January transfer window, Wout Weghorst has so far been ineffective in front of goal.
Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham Hotspur is in doubt, and there have been credible reports linking the Red Devils to a potential summer move for him.
However, Victor Osimhen appears to be another name linked with interest from United, suggesting that they might also look abroad for a striker this summer.
Additionally, insider Graeme Bailey stated on the Talking Transfers podcast that the Red Devils may consider Vlahovic as a potential option:
(26:30) He’s on the United list. He is listed by Chelsea. They are considering the number nine, who is a potential option for Newcastle. The newcomers are Aston Villa.
He has a strong desire to visit England. For Vlahovic, the Premier League is a viable option, and if you can reimburse Juventus for their investment, they’ll accept this deal. Vlahovic is someone who should be watched closely because he “really, really could be the diamond in the rough here.”
Would United make a wise choice in Vlahovic?
For the Serbian striker, who has already dealt with a number of injuries that have limited his playing time, this season has not been easy.
However, despite making 25 league appearances in Serie A, he has only scored twice in the last 13 games (per Transfermarkt). In his 25 league appearances, he has scored 10 goals.
However, this player has demonstrated tremendous potential thus far in his career and was earlier in the year hailed as a “absolute monster” by journalist Carlo Garganese.

In fact, the 23-year-old produced an impressive 24 goals and five assists in Serie A last season (per Transfermarkt).
If United were to sign him over the summer, it might be risky given his recent performance, but in England, his potential might be realised.
But given that Osimhen has displayed such impressive form for Napoli this season, it would be difficult to overlook the Nigerian player for Vlahovic when he could also be a viable option for United.
Vlahovic might be a simpler target to sign, though, given that his place in Juventus’ starting lineup is not assured.
