Manchester United is once more linked to Victor Osimhen as they look for a strong striker.

Recent media reports claim that Manchester United, which would even offer to pay twice as much, is in the lead in the competition to sign the Nigerian international from Napoli.

According to Il Mattino, Manchester United have a slight advantage over Newcastle and PSG because they already made arrangements to sign the African centre forward last summer.

The top goal scorer in Serie A, who has 23 goals to his name, is currently paid 4.5 million euros per season, or roughly £75,000 per week, according to an Italian news source.

Rumour has it that Man United and other potential suitors are willing to sign him for easily well over 10 million euros a season.

The Italian champions, according to Il Mattino, are unable and unwilling to pay him the aforementioned sums to extend his stay at the club.

To allow their prized asset to leave, however, club president Aurelio de Laurentiis will demand a staggering fee of 160 million euros.

If the prospective suitors think the price is “crazy,” they shouldn’t approach Napoli. For the auction that will take place this summer, the opening bid is 160 million euros.

Paul Pogba’s re-signing by Man United from Juventus in 2016 for a staggering 105 million euros set a record Serie A sale.
