Man United now enter race for “exceptional” defender, his club are “willing to sell”

The Red Devils’ pursuit of a defender may lead them to Vanderson, according to reports from Spain via Sport Witness, who claim that the player is a target for Manchester United this summer.

What has changed since Vanderson joined Manchester United?
The Red Devils are fourth in the Premier League right now, and they’ll be hoping to stay there and earn a spot in the Champions League for the upcoming season.

Erik Ten Hag, the manager, will need to make sure that his team has a lot of depth if that is the case in order for them to consistently compete both domestically and in Europe. The Red Devils are reportedly willing to allow the manager to sign another defender this summer in order to bolster his defensive unit. Another right-back may be required at United as a result of Harry Maguire’s potential departure, which would free up money and space, and Diogo Dalot being a target for Real Madrid.

In order to increase their summer right-sided options, the Premier League team is now prepared to make an approach for Vanderson. The club is reportedly in a battle with Barcelona to sign the Monaco player, according to Spanish media outlets via Sport Witness.

The 21-year-old’s current team is reportedly “willing to sell,” giving their pursuit of him another boost. To avoid Barcelona’s competition, all Ten Hag’s team needs to do is win the race for his signature.

Must Man United acquire Vanderson?
Dalot, a former Porto player who has made a big impression at Old Trafford this season, is already a talented option for the Red Devils at right-back. For instance, the 24-year-old has a 6.97 rating on WhoScored this season, which places him among the top five players for United’s squad.

But if Madrid were to sign the player, Vanderson might make a good stand-in or even a very good depth option. The 21-year-old has also performed admirably for Monaco in Ligue 1 this season, earning a WhoScored rating of 6.94 and placing among his team’s top five scorers.

The right-back is also a younger option than Dalot, and with an average of 2.6 tackles and 1.6 interceptions per game (the joint-best rate at the club), he has demonstrated his excellent defensive ability at a good level. Phillipe Clement, the manager, also praised his “adaptation” to the league and described him as a “huge perfectionist,” calling him “exceptional.”

If Man United decides to sign Vanderson during the transfer window, it would be a real steal considering how well the player has performed in Ligue 1.
