Kim Min-jae, who was previously linked to Liverpool, is reportedly’very close’ to joining Manchester United this summer.
The South Korean’s ‘amazing’ individual season has just seen Napoli win the Serie A. Numerous elite clubs in Europe, notably Erik Ten Hag and Jurgen Klopp’s teams, have him on their wish lists.
Sadly for Liverpool, it appears like Kim Min-jae will soon be joining Manchester United, according to a Corriere dello Sport article.
Kim Min-jae, who is wanted by Liverpool, is’very close’ to joining Manchester United.
This season, Kim has excelled as a player for Napoli.
The Korean has been a major factor in the Partenopei’s ability to win their first Serie A championship in more than 30 years, together with Victor Osimhen and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.
Napoli is aware that those three players will be of great interest. Particularly Osimhen has been mentioned in connection with other elite clubs in England and worldwide.
No matter what happens with Kvaratskhelia, the recently crowned Italian champions have no intention of letting the Nigerian go. Kim, however, appears to be moving.
The defender is’very close’ to joining Manchester United, according to the source, and the Red Devils are about to meet his £52 million release clause.
According to rumours, Liverpool was also very interested in signing Kim, but no actual negotiations took place between the Reds, Napoli, and the gifted centre defence.
If the rumour is accurate, Kim has all the skills necessary to thrive in the Premier League, and Manchester United is doing the right thing by acquiring a player of his calibre.
At the back, Liverpool already has Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, and Jurgen Klopp also has Joel Matip and Joe Gomez at his disposal.
Given the recent injury problems Liverpool’s defenders have faced, it would have made sense to sign another elite defender, but Kim doesn’t appear to be the candidate.
It will be intriguing to watch how Kim performs in the Premier League if Manchester United decides to sign him.
