Right-back from PSG, Manchester United are now the “front runners”

Football Insider claims Achraf Hakimi will be available this summer.

Manchester United plans to add a right-back.
Early in the season, it appeared as though the Red Devils would be in the market for a right-back. Sky Sports reported that the club was open to offers for Aaron Wan-Bissaka almost as soon as Erik ten Hag joined the team.

Although the former Crystal Palace starlet has forced his way back in over the past few weeks, the Dutchman clearly preferred Diogo Dalot in that position. The manager may well stick to his guns and look for a more comfortable ball-playing full-back this summer.

In March, reports suggested that Old Trafford officials might try to swap Dalot for Dutch star Denzel Dumfries, and it appears that Hakimi is now also on the transfer shortlist.

The fact that United can now offer Hakimi Champions League football puts them ahead of Chelsea in the race to sign him, claims FI. Despite the fact that both teams are “prepared to move for the 24-year-old defender at the end of the season after Paris Saint-Germain made clear that they are open to offers,” the M16 club is currently in the lead and willing to meet his £60m asking price.

Would Hakimi be a wise addition to Man United’s roster?
The Moroccan international, who is currently making £172k per week in Paris, has the ability to contribute a little bit more end product than Dalot and Wan-Bissaka have this season, as evidenced by his nine direct goal involvements in 36 appearances across all competitions.

He receives praise as a top-tier player from legendary full-back Dani Alves. According to FBRef, he ranks highly in Europe’s top leagues in terms of critical attacking metrics like assists, progressive passes, carries, and successful take-ons.

However, the defender has recently been the focus of a strange personal life story, with everyone from UFC superstars to controversial social media personality Andrew Tate praising his actions in an alleged divorce settlement, while other rumours circulate suggesting the entire saga has been made up.

Still, Hakimi seems like he would be a great addition to Manchester United to really usher in Ten Hag’s new era, assuming that the cloud over his personal life is nothing serious enough to affect his actions there.
