Paul Scholes, a legendary member of Manchester United, believes a much-maligned summer addition will soon start to show his best, and that he will assist the team usher in a bright new era under Erik ten Hag.

Throughout his first season in command, the Dutch manager has presided over some significant advancements. He has allowed some high-profile players to leave the club, notably Paul Pogba and Cristiano Ronaldo, because he is not afraid to make difficult choices.

Additionally, the club has already ended its six-year trophy drought in the Carabao Cup despite spending more than £200 million on new players last summer.

When they play Brighton at Wembley in the FA Cup semifinals later on Sunday, they will be hoping to go to the final and add more hardware to their collection.

However, Ten Hag will already be directing his attention towards their summer hiring. More significant changes appear to be coming, with 15 players expected to go in yet another huge clearout.

However, Brazilian winger Antony will be one of the survivors of the cull. Ten Hag persuaded United to spend an astounding £85 million on his purchase from Ajax, placing him second on the club’s all-time list of record signings.

However, some people have criticised his performances, particularly his propensity for performing ball tricks. And although though he has only eight goals and one assist to his credit thus far, many believe he still has to establish his value to the team.

Scholes, however, is certain that Antony will soon experience good times.

The Brazilian is expected to improve and have an even better second season at Old Trafford, according to the United veteran.

Scholes told BT Sport, “It took some convincing from me, especially after the start of the season.” “However, I believe that he has changed as a player since the Everton game at home [on April 8].

“I thought he started to become rather predictable, usually entering on his left foot. He needed to give his game more depth, and I believe he accomplished it against Everton.

He began to sneak up behind Ben Godfrey, doing so two or three times. He was clean through on goal but came up just short.

“He started to beat people outside, and now that his confidence is there, he’s starting to look like the player we all expected.”

Scholes predicts that Antony will continue to act foolishly on the pitch, but if he starts delivering results, such antics will be overlooked.

“He’s still going to act silly, but as long as he’s producing goals and passes for Dalot [against Forest], we don’t mind that.”

He needs to score more of those goals, he must put himself in the box, and he will score a lot of goals for this squad over the next few years.

He is a 22-year-old Brazilian man who immigrated from another nation. Although the season is about to end, it took him some time to adjust, but in the next years, he has a chance to become a key member of this team.
