Last 48 hours: Ten Hag could green light sale of “fantastic” Man United player

According to a recent article from the Manchester Evening News, Harry Maguire’s transfer from Manchester United to the Serie A could get the manager’s approval this summer.

What are the most recent Man United transfer rumours?
According to The Guardian, Jadon Sancho, Anthony Martial, Victor Lindelof, and a host of other players may be allowed to leave Manchester United this summer, which could mean that Ten Hag will have to start from scratch.

The manager still sees “potential” in the winger, according to reporter Ben Jacobs, who most recently spoke with GiveMeSport. Maguire may also get one last chance to redeem himself.

Journalist Dean Jones thinks the defender could be given a “lifeline” by excelling over the upcoming weeks because the Red Devils don’t have any available center-backs.

The Manchester Evening News reports that Ten Hag may put the 30-year-old up for sale in the summer if he is unable to perform well for the remainder of the season.

Although several Italian clubs are reportedly interested in the player and would prefer a loan deal given his £200k weekly salary, the player himself is reportedly open to a move to the Serie A.

The same report states that Alex Telles and Brandon Williams will both be put on the transfer list this summer, indicating that there may be significant changes prior to the 2023–24 season.

Harry Maguire should Man United let him go?
David De Gea praised the Englishman as “fantastic” back in February. He has also been impressive at times this season. At the World Cup, he was solid, averaging a 7.34 Sofascore match rating in Qatar, the third-highest of any England player.

However, despite playing for England 55 times, the player has never been able to consistently provide for Man United. This season, he has played a smaller role in the team, making just 13 Premier League appearances.

Although he wasn’t entirely to blame for United’s Europa League elimination against Sevilla, the former Leicester City player made a careless mistake that resulted in the La Liga team’s opening goal, which didn’t help his team’s cause.

Ten Hag should unquestionably approve Maguire’s departure this summer as he has more than enough time to establish himself as a player deserving of serving as Manchester United’s captain but has failed to do so.
