Man Utd in ‘pole position’ to beat Chelsea, City to sign £40m ‘top target’ after Erik ten Hag demand

Axel Disasi of AS Monaco is reportedly being chased by Chelsea and Manchester City, with Man Utd reportedly holding “pole position” in the race to sign him.

Due to injuries to Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, the Red Devils currently lack options in the defense.

In the weekend’s 2-0 victory over Nottingham Forest, Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof started, but both players are reportedly interested in other teams given how little playing time they have received from Erik ten Hag this year.

Harry Kane of Tottenham and Victor Osimhen of Napoli are two strikers that Man Utd will be pursuing in the summer transfer market.

However, they are also most likely to bring in a new defender to give Ten Hag more options in that part of the field.

The 25-year-old has established himself as one of the top defenders in Ligue 1 this season and has made the France team. He may perform best as a center back, but he can also play right back when called upon.

Man Utd is reportedly ‘in pole position’ to sign Disasi, according to a recent report from Football Insider.

The defender has “registered” interest from Chelsea and Manchester City as well, but United are the “favorites” to sign him. The report also says.

Erik ten Hag may need defensive reinforcements, and Axel Disasi of Monaco is currently the top target.

The 25-year-old is entering the last two years of his contract, and Monaco is willing to sell him if their £40 million asking price is met.

This season, United has sent scouts to watch Disasi several times, and the reports have been positive. The French international is regarded as a star with enormous potential.

This summer, Kim Min-Jae of Napoli is the other defender on United’s radar, but Disasi has risen to the top of the list.

Although a new center-back is also being stressed by Ten Hag, a marquee striker is still the club’s top priority.

A different perspective on Man Utd’s pursuit of Disasi can be found in a different report from Fabrizio Romano.

Apparently, United’s interest in Disasi has not gone any further than’sending scouts to follow’ him, according to the esteemed transfer expert.

I was informed that there is currently no concrete information regarding Chelsea’s interest in Axel Disasi. Romano authored a piece for Caught Offside.

Manchester United has been mentioned because they sent scouts to follow Disasi, but there has been no further information released as of yet.

We must wait until the new Monaco director is appointed before learning more because “the player’s price tag will be determined by the new Monaco director.”
