This 6.2ft monster “has risen” to become Ten Hag’s primary defensive target

Manchester United’s season has been hampered by injuries, and their chances of adding to their Carabao Cup victory now appear to be in jeopardy.

Currently, manager Erik ten Hag’s top scorer and first-choice defensive pairing are both injured, raising concerns that both centre-backs may have played their final game of the year.

The Red Devils must have additional elite back-up alternatives available after Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez both had to leave the field early against Sevilla due to injuries, especially given the Frenchman’s history of setbacks and the likelihood that the Argentine may require surgery.

United require a new cornerback.

Both club captain Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof’s futures are in doubt, and there is a good chance that both will be transferred on in the summer.

Fernandes: On occasion, I go too far.

Axel Disasi, who plays for Monaco, is one guy that might be used as backup. Football Insider claims that United are in the lead in the competition to sign the France international.

In the hunt to sign the Frenchman, the Reds have surpassed both of their Premier League rivals, Manchester City and Chelsea.

The United scouts who have often watched Ten Hag play this season have given him nothing but positive feedback.

Disasi has demonstrated his versatility this season by appearing in a few games at right-back. He is capable of playing on either side of a center-back duo.

As a result, Axel Disasi is now the defensive player of choice.

The article stated that “United’s recruitment team views him as a star with enormous potential and he has advanced to become their first-choice defensive target this summer.”

Positional versatility is something that Ten Hag values highly, and Disasi has a strong resume with six goals and four assists in 41 games across all competitions.

The 25-year-old’s contract with the French team expires in 2025, and Transfermarkt estimates his worth at €25 million.

Given that Lindelof and Maguire were previously rejected by the Dutch manager as being insufficient at that position, United would do well to sign the Frenchman.
