Man Utd learn asking price to sign ‘the next Haaland’ as summer move plotted

According to a recent Italian story, Manchester United has learnt the asking price to capture Atalanta wonderkid Rasmus Hojlund this summer.

The 20-year-old attacker transferred from Austrian powerhouses Sturm Graz to Bergamo last summer.

In his first Serie A season, he has impressed observers by scoring seven goals and dishing out two assists.

The national media BT referred to him as “the new dangerous number nine in the Danish national team” after he scored a hat-trick for Denmark during their 3-1 victory over Finland last month.

Hojlund has drawn similarities to Manchester City player Erling Haaland because of his technical ability, fluid movement, and 6 foot 1 inch height.

Atalanta is supposed to have set their price now that teams like Manchester United are apparently interested in signing him this summer.

For Hojlund, a target for Man Utd, Atalanta “set asking price”

Atalanta has reportedly put a price tag of between €65 and €70 million on the head of one of their star assets, but Correire della Serra reports that interested parties may need to submit a proposal for an even larger amount.

The 19-year-old defender Giorgio Scalvini is mentioned in the same report as having comparable success this year.

The Italian is a natural center defender, but manager Gian Piero Gasperini has also used him in midfield this year.

Atalanta is rumored to desire a comparable sum for both players, but United has been extensively linked to Hojlund.

Speaking to DAZN after the striker’s game-winning goal helped Atalanta defeat Spezia 2-1 in January, Gasperini said of the forward’s recent growth: “He has exceptional margins. Being 19 required him to enter matches immediately away.

“He played a tremendous match today; technically, he has margins. Given his height, he can also perform well in the air. Future top striker potential for him.

Considering that United manager Erik ten Hag is still looking for a long-term replacement for Cristiano Ronaldo, the Dane might end up being a more affordable option than the club’s top target, Harry Kane, if United are unable to pry him away from Tottenham.
