Man Utd ‘open to selling’ fan favourite as Erik ten Hag lines up another Ajax reunion

According to reports, Man Utd is willing to sell Anthony Martial this summer because Erik ten Hag is considering reuniting with Mohammed Kudus of Ajax.

The French forward transferred from AS Monaco to the Premier League team in 2015, the same year he won the Golden Boy award.

The 27-year-old made an immediate impact at Old Trafford, scoring the goal against Liverpool that caused Martin Tyler to get quite excited before scoring a vital pair of goals in a 3-2 victory at Southampton.

Martial, however, has fallen short of his rumored €60 million transfer fee during his time with the team.

This season, injuries have kept the former Monaco youngster out of action more frequently than not.

When healthy, Martial has proven to be a useful asset, and he displayed some of his potential in Thursday’s Europa League draw against Sevilla at home. The striker spent the second half of last season on loan with Sevilla.

Having said that, it is clear that he cannot serve as United’s No. 9 player in the long run because his fitness has been a major issue this season.

In the wake of Cristiano Ronaldo’s departure in November, Ten Hag is anticipated to sign a new striker in the summer.

Victor Osimhen of Napoli, Santiago Gimenez of Feyenoord, Randal Kolo Muani of Eintracht Frankfurt, and Harry Kane of Tottenham are a few players who have been mentioned as potential transfers to Old Trafford.

Martial is expected to stay to provide cover up top, but Manchester Evening News has reported that he might be traded this summer.

In addition to Martial, it’s thought that Manchester United has decided that club captain Harry Maguire is no longer needed.

Only 18 appearances have been made by the French international this season across all competitions.

It has once more been reported that Ten Hag wants to sign Ajax forward Kudus even though he is looking for a long-term replacement to captain the line.

The 22-year-old is a very adaptable player who can play in front of the striker as well as anywhere else in the attack.

He has performed admirably this season, participating in 38 games across all competitions and contributing five assists and 18 goals.

Ten Hag is eager to sign the Ghanaian international, according to the Manchester Evening News, having previously worked with Kudus.

The Dutch manager has a long list of forwards he wants in the summer, including Kudus.
