Man United eye 12-goal midfielder with potential to reach ‘Modric level’

Orkun Kokcu, a midfielder for Feyenoord, may join Manchester United this summer, according to rumours.

Tyrell Malacia of Feyenoord made a wise choice in his first transfer of the Erik ten Hag era.

Orkun Kokcu, a former teammate of his, is now the subject of interest from Manchester United, claims specialized Feyenoord outlet 1908.nl.

He can be seen as a far more affordable alternative to Jude Bellingham for the summer and, according to 1908, was even scouted as Dortmund’s replacement for the Englishman last summer.

Orkun Kokcu is wanted by Manchester United.

A 22-year-old attack-minded central midfielder named Orkun Kokcu leads Feyenoord. He had previously played for the Netherlands at the junior level before committing to Turkey, where he has already earned 20 caps.

The talented midfielder has scored 12 goals in all competitions this season and, with his propensity to strike from outside the box, has an eye for a great goal.

He received high praise from former midfielder Mohamed Sissoko last year, who told TuttoJuve: “I envision him playing in numerous roles. He left a favorable impression on me as an offensive midfielder and a center midfielder. In a three-man midfield, he is the ideal pivot.

“Modric. (Kokcu) plays equally well in my opinion. He might one day rise to his level.

Of course, it’s a tall order to live up to being compared to Modric. But the manner in which Kokcu died reveals why. In the Eredivisie this season, he averages 2.8 chances created per game.

He demonstrated the ability to control games by creating nine opportunities in one game against Fortuna earlier in the season.

Tyrell Malacia and Erik ten Hag will have first-hand knowledge of Kokcu, and the Feyenoord connections with Robin van Persie can’t hurt either.

Spending less on a midfielder would result from a high-dollar deal for a striker. If Kokcu is thought to be the best fit by Manchester United, he would be a reasonably priced choice.
