Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, provided an update following the game regarding Marcus Rashford’s alleged injury after he hobbled off against Everton.
After handling a long pass against the Toffees, United’s leading scorer for the year pulled up and made a brief gesture toward his leg.
Rashford staggered off the field and down the tunnel after receiving care from the physio.
He was replaced by Wout Weghorst for the final ten minutes of United’s 2-0 victory.
Rashford once more demonstrated his value to Ten Hag’s team throughout the game by assisting Anthony Martial in scoring the game’s second goal in a match that United dominated for the majority of the game’s 90 minutes.
However, his substitution will raise a lot of questions at Old Trafford because of the tight schedule that is coming up, which includes the league season’s end and a Europa League quarterfinal matchup against Sevilla.
Ten Hag updates Rashford.
Ten Hag was questioned by BT Sport following the victory about whether he could give an update on Rashford’s alleged injury.
“We have to wait, it doesn’t look good,” the Dutchman retorted.
It can’t be that you play three games in six days, so it’s because of the scheduling. We must safeguard our players. Every team wants to use its finest players on the field. Everyone enjoys watching entertaining football, but you need your top players to do so.
