Luke Shaw is close to agreeing to a new deal with Manchester United, Fabrizio Romano revealed exclusively to CaughtOffside in today’s edition of “the Daily Briefing.”
For some time, Shaw has been an important member of the Man Utd team. Erik ten Hag must do everything in his power to retain this seasoned professional at the team in order to build on the promising beginning of his project at Old Trafford.
The England international’s future commitment to the Red Devils has been the subject of rumors, but Romano has now verified that an agreement has been reached and that it will soon become official.
Shaw’s future has been updated, according to Romano, who stated: “I can confirm Luke Shaw has a complete agreement on a new contract with Manchester United through June 2027.
Erik ten Hag approved the agreement because he is a huge fan of Luke’s performances and attitude. He accepted the offer days ago. It’s nearly finished.
This news will undoubtedly please United supporters because Shaw has emerged as one of the team’s key players in recent seasons and a true leader at the defense.
Shaw was a young player when MUFC acquired him from Southampton in the summer of 2014. Since then, he has made nearly 250 appearances for the team, capturing the League Cup and the Europa League.
