Man Utd set for scouting mission on two transfer targets on Tuesday

In the upcoming Champions League match between the two teams, Manchester United intends to monitor the performances of Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana and Benfica striker Goncalo Ramos.

After Onana’s exploits against Porto, the Nerazzurri advanced to the Champions League’s round of eight. Ramos also had a significant impact for Benfica in their matchup with Club Brugge.

The round of 16 victory, by an overall score of 7-1, featured two goals and two helpers from the Portuguese.

According to FC Inter News, United will be keeping an eye on Onana and Ramos when Inter and Benfica play each other in the first game of their quarterfinal matchup at the Estadio da Luz.

The pair are currently held in high esteem by the Red Devils, and club scouts will look to “add more information” about them during next week’s European match in the capital of Portugal.

Ramos and Onana would help Man Utd.

United and David de Gea are presently negotiating a contract, but no progress has been made. The Spaniard has no intention of taking a significant salary cut to remain at the team.

Although there is optimism that a deal will be made, manager Erik ten Hag might still prefer a young goalkeeper who could eventually replace the Spaniard.

At Ajax, Onana was the top player under him, and he might be the ideal acquisition. The Cameroonian goalie excels at handling the ball and has a pass accuracy of almost 80%.

In the meantime, compared to their Premier League rivals, United continues to lag in the striking area.

Since switching to a loan, Wout Weghorst hasn’t exactly wowed, and Anthony Martial hasn’t managed to avoid injury. Up to five injuries have been suffered by him this season.

Ramos would be the ideal choice because they need a young, marquee striker who can deliver long-term success. For Benfica this season, the Portuguese has scored an astounding 24 goals and provided 10 assists.

If the Glazers continue in charge, the key question is still whether United will make significant summer purchases.

Ramos won’t be available for less than his €120 million release option, while Onana could cost €40 million.
