Man Utd to sign ‘next Aurelien Tchouameni’ as PSG admit defeat in transfer

After Paris Saint-Germain withdrew, Manchester United became one of the top clubs pursuing the player considered to be the “next Aurelien Tchouameni,” Son Heung-min may leave Tottenham to join a major European club after Harry Kane leaves, and according to Friday’s Euro Paper Talk, Manchester City wants an Inter Milan star.

Ten Hag pursues a Bundesliga enforcement officer

According to one journalist, Man Utd has a great chance of signing Kouadio Kone from Borussia Monchengladbach after PSG decided not to make an offer for him.

De Gea: “I love the future of Man Utd.”

This season, the 21-year-old, also known as Manu Kone, has surfaced as one of Gladbach’s most crucial players. In their Bundesliga games, he has participated in all but one, and he only missed that one due to a ban for receiving a yellow card.

Kone has played the most minutes in the Bundesliga for Gladbach so far this season. And with more tackles per game than any of his teammates, he is showing to be a very effective screen for the defense. (2.6 on average, as per Whoscored).

Erik ten Hag, the manager of Manchester United, can already use Casemiro as his primary defensive midfielder. However, the Brazilian, who is currently 31 years old, might put up his boots after a few more campaigns at Old Trafford. It makes sense for the Red Devils to acquire Kone as his long-term replacement as a result.

Fabrizio Romano disclosed on Monday that the three clubs vying for Kone’s services are Manchester United, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain.

The France U21 international has emerged as a top target for all three teams seeking to add a new midfielder to their rosters this summer.

Now that PSG are unlikely to make a bid for Kone later this year, Ligue 1 expert Jonathan Johnson has significantly boosted Man Utd and Chelsea’s chances of having him play in the Premier League the following year. And given that Man Utd has a much better chance of qualifying for the Champions League than Chelsea does, they will be the team with the most confidence about signing the star.

Although Kone still needs to grow more before he can be regarded as one of the best midfielders in Europe, Johnson said Kone can be likened to Aurelien Tchouameni of Real Madrid.

“A fine young player” is a Man Utd target.

Johnson wrote in his column for CaughtOffside, “Manu Kone is a fine young player who’s making the headlines a bit more recently, with links to the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea.”

However, it’s difficult to imagine PSG having a significant squad overhaul this summer and having the money available to spend the kind of money required for a signing like Kone. He is a young French footballer who is obviously very talented, so it makes sense that PSG would be interested in him, particularly since he is about to make a name for himself abroad as well.

“However, it’s hard to see PSG winning the race for Kone, and it’s hard to see them doing much else with their roster, as long as the contract situations of Sergio Ramos and Lionel Messi remain unresolved ahead of the summer.

Even though there are many other top teams searching for midfielders, I believe PSG would be the only team that could bring him back to Ligue 1.

“Manchester United appears to be one of those, as the club has been linked with both Kone and Enzo Le Fee, a player for Lorient and another impressive talent who I anticipate will be of interest to a number of major teams at the moment.

The temptation to compare Kone to someone like Aurelien Tchouameni, who made the significant transfer from Monaco to Real Madrid last year, will be strong, but I don’t think Kone is quite ready to make that kind of leap yet. Kone is not quite where Tchouameni was with Monaco when he later moved to Madrid, and I don’t mean that in any insult to Kone or the caliber of Borussia Monchengladbach.

“However, that is not to suggest that major clubs won’t be interested in him. He could appeal to them because we are aware that Chelsea is so-to-speak recruiting the talents of tomorrow. Given that Kone is currently being considered by clubs, Gladbach also appears to be nearing the conclusion of a cycle and may lose Marcus Thuram for nothing. As a result, they will need to find some additional funding.

“My personal opinion is that he’s not quite ready to join the European elite like Tchouameni was, but that could also mean Chelsea is a logical next step for him because, given how their season is going, Champions League qualification looks unlikely, so it could be the right sort of project for him to start with,” Johnson continued.

Kone will have the option to choose between Man Utd and Chelsea in the summer now that PSG is no longer an option. Johnson advises him to transfer to Stamford Bridge, but given their additional games as a result of UCL qualification and the fact that Ten Hag has fewer players in his squad, a move to Man Utd might make more sense.
