“Superb talent”: Fabrizio Romano says Man United chasing gifted 21-yo midfielder

Players from Manchester United got a well-deserved holiday over the international break as they prepare to keep up their outstanding run across several fronts.

The future appears promising for the red half of Manchester as the Glazers near completion of the club’s sale.

Major additions will be made by United in the summer, and a number of players have recently been linked to the team.

In his transfer column for Caughtoffside, transfer guru Fabrizio Romano updated readers on one of those targets by confirming United’s interest in Manu Kone.

For the German team, the Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder has been in sublime form, and his outstanding play has not gone unnoticed.

Additionally, Kone is allegedly on PSG’s radar, and the 21-year-old spoke about the prospect of joining the Parisian team in a recent interview.

“PSG interested? You are aware that I am a native of Paris because I was raised here.

“There’s a logical connection. However, I don’t care if it’s a club in Paris or another city. I only want to have fun. If I have to go, playing will be my top priority, he said.

Although Chelsea has also shown interest in Kone, Romano claims that the Londoners are more likely to choose more established Premier League players like Declan Rice and Romeo Lavia.

In what has been a brilliant debut campaign thus far, United has been humming under new manager Erik ten Hag.

However, the 20-time English champions are far from being perfect, and they will undoubtedly aim to strengthen their midfield next summer.

Following his hastily arranged arrival from Bayern Munich on deadline day, Marcel Sabitzer has performed admirably for the Red Devils thus far.

Despite links to other midfielders, there are still questions over whether the player on loan from the Bavarian giants would receive a permanent deal in the summer.

Kone would be the perfect addition to Old Trafford in Ten Hag’s long-term plans, partnering with Casemiro in the center of the midfield to create the proper balance.

In the upcoming weeks and months, be on the lookout for more developments in this story.
