Goncalo Ramos has been coveted by Manchester United for some time, and in recent months, the outstanding Portuguese player’s price has skyrocketed.

The Seleccao center forward won’t be able to go unless his contract’s £105.5 million release clause is exercised, according to today’s edition of Jornal de Noticias (news image below).

According to JN, Man United is interested in signing the Benfica striker. Prior to the start of the current season, the Red Devils tried to recruit the 21-year-old. He was estimated to be worth roughly 40 million euros at the time.

Ramos has already personally assisted in no fewer than 34 goals this season in 36 games across all competitions. (24 goals and 10 assists)

Not to mention, he scored a hat trick against Switzerland in his first ever Portugal World Cup start.

The Eagles are trying to come to new terms with the young player because of his excellent performances, which warrant an enhanced contract for him.

He was rumored to be leaving Benfica in the January transfer window, but president Rui Costa stopped it. Other teams with which the eight-cap star has been connected include Newcastle, PSG, and Bayern.

According to JN, Ramos’ transfer will be measured against the release clause, which is £105.5 million, same as it was with the sale of Enzo Fernandez to Chelsea.

As they sorely need a top pure striker to bolster the team for the upcoming season, Man Utd has been connected with a number of elite forwards. Your opinion matters. Should they offer £105.5 million to sign Goncalo Ramos?
