We previously reported on a Mirror Sport story from earlier this month that said Manchester United was one of the front-runners to sign Gabriel Veiga away from Celta Vigo.

Man Utd is one of the clubs willing to agree to the £35 million sum needed to capture the player, according to the most recent information published by AS.

This season in La Liga, the 20-year-old youngster has been a revelation.

The youthful player has scored nine goals and contributed three assists in his first eighteen league starts.

Veiga is a versatile player who can be used in a variety of offensive and midfield positions.

Manuel Carlos Mourino, president of Celta Vigo, has acknowledged that it will be challenging to keep the club’s prized asset during the upcoming transfer window.

Veiga will only be permitted to leave if the £35 million release clause in his present contract is triggered, he has made it clear.

Apart from Manchester United, AS claims that clubs like Liverpool, Arsenal, Newcastle, and AC Milan are also eager to trigger the option in order to entice the versatile midfielder.

In the upcoming transfer window, the Red Devils need to strengthen their center midfield and wide offensive positions, and Veiga has shown to be successful in such positions.
