Highly-rated Russian defender Aleksandr Mukhin has suggested that his ‘dream’ is to move to the Premier League with Manchester United.
According to Sport24, Mukhin claims a move away from Russia to England is his career goal.
Erik ten Hag’s summer wishlist is likely to include a new center-back, with names like Axel Disasi and Jurrien Timber reportedly high on the list. However, 20-year-old Mukhin still has a ways to go before catching the attention of one of the world’s top footballing organizations.
On the other hand, left-footed center-halves are extremely popular right now. Even if the former Russia U18 international still has a lot to learn, Mukhin’s youth, potential, and left-footedness should do him no harm at all in terms of increasing his chances of landing a huge break.
Alex Mukhin desires to represent Manchester United as a player.
Russian talent Aleksandr Mukhin wants to play with Manchester United
“My goals? to participate in RPL (Russian Premier League). Afterwards, England,” adds Mukhin, who during the January transfer window transferred from parent club Rostov to FC Ufa on loan.
Mukhin said that a prospective transfer to Man United “is now the most attractive thing” in response to a question about his ambition to play at Old Trafford.
“It’s a dream come true to play in the Premier League. More specifically, the objective that you must pursue,” Mukhin continues.
Commenting on the current environment in Russia, he reflected: “Whether it is conceivable to achieve now, I do not know. Possibly later, once everything has calmed down. Maybe it will just become worse, I don’t know. These things are not for us to decide.”
Mukhin has thus far only played six times in Russia’s top division, all of those outings coming for Rostov. He signed a new contract until the summer of 2026 in December. As such, Rostov would be under no hurry to cash in should any interest surface during the forthcoming transfer window.
United’s focus, however, is firmly placed upon a more experienced centre-half; one with a proven track record at a high level in European football. Monaco powerhouse Disasi, the Daily Mail believe, could set United back approximately £44 million.
Early conversations with the France international began back in January.
