Man Utd and Tottenham ‘crazy’ about midfield signing that’ll deliver dagger to separate Liverpool deal.

According to sources, Man United, Tottenham, and Chelsea are all “crazy” about the prospect of signing a Barcelona midfielder who, if they do, may unintentionally scuttle a separate Liverpool deal for a top-tier midfielder.

This summer, Liverpool will likely rebuild their midfield, with Jude Bellingham of Borussia Dortmund as their top target.

The need for several recruits will arise because Arthur Melo, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are all leaving.

Inter Milan’s Nicolo Barella is a high-caliber player that the Reds are keeping an eye on. The 26-year-old international from Italy has indeed drawn more attention from Liverpool’s scouting team in 2023.

Barella would be ideal for a midfield under Jürgen Klopp, as Jamie Carragher has explained in detail.

The first month of the summer window is when Inter is rumored to need to raise about €60 million to help balance the budget. Their cash flow issue would be resolved in one fell swoop if they sold Barella, who is worth anything from €70m to €100m depending on whose article you read.

Corriere dello Sport’s assertion that Inter are prepared for life after Barella fueled the fire surrounding the barella scandal. Apparently, if a sale is reluctantly approved, Barcelona’s Franck Kessie will take Barella’s place.

Liverpool’s chances of signing Barella have been dashed, however, by news out of Spain. This is due to the fact that, according to Mundo Deportivo, Man Utd, Tottenham, and Chelsea are all “mad” about signing Franck Kessie, the player Inter wants to replace him.

Tottenham, Man United, and Chelsea can thwart Liverpool’s intentions.

According to Mundo, Barcelona is being approached by all three of the English heavyweights. The hope is that Barcelona will be able to cash in and make a quick profit on a player they signed for free last summer due to their well-known financial struggles.

Tottenham’s manager Antonio Conte is familiar with Kessie from his time at Inter. During Conte’s previous tenure in the city, Kessie was one of the top players for cross-town rivals AC Milan.

Frenkie de Jong is still a player that Manchester United is interested in signing, but Fabrizio Romano recently emphasized that the Dutchman has not changed his mind about leaving Barcelona. To increase the depth of his midfield, Erik ten Hag believes Kessie to be a good choice.

Although it would be abandoned if N’Golo Kante agreed to a new deal, Chelsea also has a plan in mind for Kessie. In the event that Kante leaves, Kessie is seen as a potential replacement. Kessie won’t require signing if he remains.

However, Liverpool’s prospects of acquiring Barella would be reduced if one of the three were able to pull off a Kessie coup.

Although Kessie is by far and away Inter’s main aim in central midfield this summer, Mundo reiterates that Inter might just move for an option.
