Italian giants plot ambitious swap deal for Man United star

Expect to hear about a number of deals involving players leaving and entering Old Trafford as the summer transfer window draws near. The most recent was a trade involving Denzel Dumfries of Inter Milan and United center-back Victor Lindelof.

According to Football Insider, Italian sources claim a transfer will be completed in the summer because the Nerazzurri are looking to add a center-back to their squad.

Inter are reportedly prepared to make the offer to United in the summer, given United’s ongoing interest in Scotland.

Erik ten Hag, who intends to keep the Swedish international on his team for the upcoming season, will need some convincing.

Fabrizio Romano claims that Ten Hag is “satisfied” with the player and that Inter have already had inquiries regarding Lindelof from United turned down.

“I have no doubt that Erik ten Hag is pleased with Lindelof and will make the same effort to retain the player as he did in January. That was a clear “no” in January, so I’m not sure whether Man United will let him go, stated Romano.

That definitely seems to reduce the likelihood that Inter will accept their potential offer, especially given the uncertainty surrounding Harry Maguire’s future.

According to The Athletic, Simeone Inzaghi is trying to sell some players and sign other players on smart financial terms as Inter’s financial condition is far from stable at the moment.

Victor Lindelof is not anticipated to be included in any deal for the Dutchman should United approach Inter about the Dumfries singing, as far as United is concerned.

With Ten Hag’s revolution well under way and what appears to be a successful first season in charge, United are anticipating a busy summer.

The Carabao Cup victory for United ended the team’s six-year trophy drought, and the manager is hoping to add another one to the trophy case by the end of the current campaign with the squad still alive in the Europa League and FA Cup.

United is also the favorite to finish in the top four of the Premier League and earn a Champions League spot for the upcoming season.

A successful first season under charge would include Champions League qualification and a victory, with United laying the groundwork for a title challenge the following year.
