According to The Sun, Manchester United want to sign Joao Palhinha during the forthcoming transfer window.

Six teams are interested in the midfielder, including Chelsea, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur. Erik ten Hag’s team is one of them.

During Palhinha’s time playing in Portugal, United was interested in signing him, and it’s possible that scouts from the club visited him frequently.

Palhinha has excelled for Fulham since relocating to west London last summer and may soon be leaving the club.

In contrast, Fulham manager Marco Silva stated in an earlier this month interview with The Athletic that Palhinha is content with the team.

Silva said, “He [Palhinha] is content here.

“The same is true for managers and players; you can’t control what people say.

“If there is interest, whether managers or players have links to clubs.

To be completely honest, we don’t waste time worrying about these circumstances, and Joao is no different.

The former Sporting Lisbon player, who is 27 years old and appears to be entering his prime, should fetch a sizable sum next summer.

This season, no other midfielder in the top division of English football has completed more tackles (101) or won more duels (191) than Palhinha, a true force in the middle of the park.

Yet, as evidenced by his 10 yellow cards, for which he is currently serving a two-game suspension, his confrontational disposition frequently results in his being carded.

Palhinha completed nine tackles in the match between Fulham and Man United in November of last year at Craven Cottage, which is the most of any player in a single Premier League game this season.

Next Sunday’s FA Cup quarterfinal between United and Fulham will feature Palhinha, who will try to serve up another example of his talent.
