Liverpool player‘has offered himself’ to Man Utd, 31 y/o ‘will leave’ this summer

When Wout Weghorst returns to his original club, Erik ten Hag will be left with just Anthony Martial, therefore Manchester United will likely buy a striker this summer.

Weghorst was appointed as Cristiano Ronaldo’s temporary successor in January after their mutual contract agreement to end it in November. He will return to Burnley in June, though, as he hasn’t done enough to merit a long-term contract.

Harry Kane of Tottenham Hotspur and Victor Omishen of Napoli have both been linked to United, but according to transfer expert Ekrem Konur, Robert Firmino might also be a possibility after ‘offering himself’ to the Red Devils.

The 31-year-old, who will leave Liverpool at the end of the current campaign and who would not be a bad free agent choice after tallying 10 goals and five assists in 27 games in 2022–23, will go from Anfield.

Konur claims that Firmino has also made himself available to Arsenal, Inter Milan, and Barcelona, so United would face tough competition for his services.

The international Brazilian player, who previously played for TSG Hoffenheim, transferred to Liverpool in 2015 and has since made 354 appearances, tallying 108 goals and 79 assists.

Since Firmino’s contract expired this summer and a new one couldn’t be reached, Liverpool will release him in the near future.

They could do much worse than Firmino because United needs a center-forward and would definitely prefer one with Premier League experience and a strong scoring record. The main concern is acquiring a Liverpool player because the two vehement rivals rarely conduct business.

Firmino might not be on United’s radar because they haven’t bought or sold a player directly from or to Liverpool this century.
