Star striker Robert Lewandowski is reportedly totally fit and prepared to start for Barcelona in the La Liga matchup against Athletic Club later this week, according to SPORT.

During Barcelona’s La Liga match against UD Almeria, which they lost 1-0 in the final week of February, Lewandowski suffered a hamstring injury.

The 34-year-old consequently missed this past weekend’s La Liga match against Valencia and the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final against Real Madrid.

However, Barcelona will not have to make do without their ace goalscorer for much longer as he is all set to make a comeback in the encounter vs Athletic Club later this week.

According to the source, the Polish captain is fully healthy and ready to face the Basque team at San Mames on Sunday and play the whole 90 minutes.

The impending comeback of Lewandowski coincides with a key period for Barcelona as the match against Athletic Club can be challenging, especially away from home.

Also, the Blaugrana will play Real Madrid in La Liga the following week in a match that might have a significant impact on the battle for the championship.

Lewandowski has scored 25 goals and assisted six more in 31 games in all competitions since joining the team in the summer.

During the World Cup break, the former Bayern Munich superstar’s form fell a little, but Xavi and company will be hoping that this brief break of two weeks has helped the striker regenerate and return to his best for the remaining games of the season.
