Goncalo Ramos, a striker wanted by Manchester United, looks like he will leave Benfica this summer.
Together with the Red Devils, Paris St-Germain is also interested in hiring Ramos.
Ramos is on Erik ten Hag’s want list for a striker, claims Portuguese daily A Bola via SportWitness.
The Dutchman has a clear need for a goal striker. Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen are a couple of other names who have been cited as being high on Ten Hag’s priority list.
According to SportWitness, “A summer transfer now looks probable, with interest from the Old Trafford club moving forward and PSG also getting mentioned.
“The Portuguese international is under contract with Benfica through June 2026, so they are well-protected.
“That agreement has a massive €120 million release clause, but interested teams would want to negotiate the sum down, or at least ask for a payment plan and for part of the cash to be in bonus payments,” said one interested club.
It’s simple to understand why United is so eager to sign Ramos.
This season, the 21-year-old has scored 24 goals in 37 matches for club and country.
Also, the player has racked up four assists.
Ramos has scored 15 goals throughout 19 appearances in Liga NOS.
More than ever, it is clear that United needs a striker. On Sunday night, the squad suffered a humiliating 7-0 loss at Anfield as a result of Ten Hag’s constant switching and juggling to mask this shortcoming.
