After new developments in the story, Manchester United is allegedly getting closer to making a deal for Jeremie Frimpong of Bayer Leverkusen.
When the Dutchman shone in Germany and the Champions League, United has been extensively linked to a deal for him all season.
The young player made a name for himself last season after being named to the Bundesliga’s “Team of the Season” for his steady efforts.
The former Celtic player, who is now worth over £25 million, first arrived in Germany in 2020 for a mere €11 million.
But, after facts disclosed by dependable German journalist Christian Falk, it appears that a purported move to Old Trafford is becoming closer.
“Jeremie Frimpong is coming closer and closer to a United move,” Falk said to Caught Offside. Frimpong was also a subject in Winter since United wanted him badly at the time.
“You know, he’s a Dutch player, and he has a strong relationship with Erik ten Hag. Talks need to have taken place.
“As you can see, Ten Hag is doing well with his squad and has solid justifications for Frimpong and United in support of granting his desire. He seems to be one of Ten Hag’s primary summer objectives.
Despite this, given Aaron Wan Bissaka and Diogo Dalot’s recent performances, it is still somewhat puzzling why Erik ten Hag would want to spend such a significant amount of money on a right back.
These most recent rumours would imply that Dalot, whose current contract expires in 2024, is not any closer to finalizing an extension, pushing ten Hag to act in the market.
