Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has been on Paris Saint-Germain’s radar for a while, and the Red Devils are well aware of that, the reliable Fabrizio Romano has told GiveMeSport.
According to the Italian journalist, PSG tried to sign the 25-year-old last summer and “really appreciate him”.
Man United transfer news – Marcus Rashford
Before United triggered a one-year option in Rashford’s contract, PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi hinted that the French side would make a move for the player, who was set to become a free agent in the summer.
“He’s another player that is really amazing,” Al-Khelaifi told Sky Sports last month. “And for free? To have Rashford for free, every club would run after him, definitely.”
He later went on to add: “Let him focus on the World Cup, then after in January, hopefully, if we’re interested, we will talk to him.”
United, however, have since protected themselves after taking up their option to extend his contract by another 12 months.
What has Fabrizio Romano said about Marcus Rashford, Man United and PSG?
Romano says United are not oblivious to PSG’s interest in their forward, which has existed for some time.
Speaking to GMS, the transfer expert said: “They know about the interest of Paris Saint-Germain. They tried last summer. They’ve always been interested. Also, the president Nasser Al-Khelaifi, a few weeks ago during the World Cup, was speaking highly of Marcus Rashford, so they really appreciate him.”
